In order to do this course you will need previous training in giving facial treatments to Level 2 standard, such as our one-day Holistic Facial Treatments course or our two-day Spa Facial Therapy course. 

Microdermabrasion is an advanced skincare course which enables the therapist to work on a wide range of skin conditions and client needs such as:

• Acne scarring

• Congested pores, whiteheads and blackheads

• Fine lines and wrinkles

• Reduce age spots 

• Acne rosacea

• Stretch marks 

• Scars 

Diamond microdermabrasion is a profitable treatment for the therapist to offer – to see good results, a course of 20 12-weekly treatments is advisable. After this, a treatment once per month is sufficient to maintain results. Clients will come for treatments regularly over a period of time and for follow ups. 

The treatment can be carried out on the body as well as on the face. The course will focus on the use of diamond microdermabrasion as part of facial treatments, but you will look at its use on other areas.

• Fitzgerald scale of skin types

• Different types of microdermabrasion – advantages of the diamond technique

• Consultation and Consultation Form

• Frequency of treatments, planning a course of treatments

• Follow up treatments 

• Diamond Microdermabrasion techniques 

• Facial Treatments using diamond microdermabrasion – preparing the skin, carrying out the diamond microdermabrasion, finishing the treatment

• Suitable masks following diamond microdermabrasion

• Aftercare and homecare advice


Duration: One Day

Pre-requisites: Training in facial treatments 

Accreditation: IGCT and Westminster Insurance. If you are already a therapist you should be able to add it to your existing policy but do check as some professional bodies will only cover courses run by their own members.
